After catching the Triumph bug during the 2023 Stowe British Invasion – a TR7 Coupe was the desired car. Another NET club member helped provide a sample to for him to begin his journey. Project start date is 11/11/2023.
First tasks were to give it a wash and to start assessing the work. The plan is to a mechanical restoration with the stock motor and get some driving in with a manual 4 speed. This will involve:
- Cleaning the interior
- Going through the electrical system and clean connectors and get it all working.
- Replace entire hydraulic system
- Replace entire fuel system
- Replace coolant hoses and flush system.
- Replace all fluids.
- Compression test the engine and see where it stands.
- Attempt to start, but if the above finds anything, then fix and then start.
- Drive car and work any bugs and decide on what is next: a full paint job is desired at some point.
