May 2010:

I started a garden around the tree in the front – just some annuals (Begonias) since there isn’t much light in that area and they give off a lot of color all summer long.

The sage under the pine tree came back (one did anyway), unfortunately the black eyed susans did not make it through the winter.  This garden still needs some work.

First planted – it’s not much to look at yet:

My mom planted black eyed susans and sage on the side of the tree that gets sunshine. I’ll turn this into a full garden with edgers and the shade side planted next year, i just need to come up with a shade plant that I want here.
